Microsoft Paint is a bastard. I stole borrowed the explosion and Rainbow Dash vectors from Somepony and ShadowillHCR over at Deviant Art. You can get anything there. Marvelous place, really. I wanted to do something like this since I saw THIS last year. Really; you should watch it.

2011: The Year of the Pony

That is a capital idea, Spitfire.

Last year wasn’t the greatest for me. However, there were a few things that brought me joy during the self-imposed monotony and funk of 2011. The next few posts will be about these things.

Of course, anybody who knows me, or who has read anything I’ve written since May, knows there is one distraction that stood out above all others. I’d like to get this elephant equine out of the room first.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

On its face, the idea of grown men watching a show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, sounds very odd (to say the least). I didn’t know what the hell was wrong with the world when I first read about the phenomenon in May of 2011. However, being a guy who watches a lot of cartoons and who probably enjoys kids shows a little more than he should, I had to look into it. I never expected it to be one of the best television shows I have ever seen.

Jack Kerouac Never Wrote About HIM

It is a beautiful December night outside. The moon is big and bright. The sky is clear. It’s not too cold. It is the kind of night meant for layers, bonfires and warm drinks outside. Instead, I am inside, trying to figure out how to write about a villainous cross-dressing lobster who shares the same name with a Finnish rock band, and why it might not be so strange, after all, that I enjoy a show about certain equines meant for “little girls”. It’s not easy. The hardest part was figuring out what kind of drink this writing requires. The mead I’ll save for Skyrim, and the wine is too civilized for this type of work. I’m going with Wild Turkey. On the rocks.
